Glimpses of World History and Discovery of India are two major academic works contributed by Nehru

Lucknow. Today Centre for Objective Research and Development(CORD) on the occasion of Nehru Jayanti organised a lecture "Nehru and India's Freedom Struggle" by Professor Ramesh Dixit at Jamia uloom din e niswan,Lucknow.

Prof Dixit sketched the entire political life of Pandit Nehru till India got freedom, the highlights of his lecture was the mention that Nehru for the first time met Mahatma Gandhi in Lucknow in 1916 and his first political movement was in 1921 when he led a peasants movement in Pratapgarh.

The comparison of Nehru with Subhash as both were political competitors was negated by Prof Dixit by quoting Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose himself through letters written by him to Nehru.

Same was with Sardar Patel where Sardar Patel in 1946 proposed the name of Nehru for Congress President who eventually had to become Prime Minister of India, mentioned Prof Dixit.

Lecture programme was conducted by Pradeep Kapoor,Sr Journalist who mentioned that Nehru spent almost 9 years in jail during freedom struggle,it was chaired by Ram Kumarji,Dalit Activist.

Other prominent attendees were Vandana Mishraji, Shazia Faqr, Daif Ahmad, Prof Obaidur Rehman Nadwi, Maulana Wasif Tiley Wali Masjid, Abhishek Dixit, Arun Yadav, Ashish Awasthi and Imran Ahmad.
