Jamia Millia Islamia organizes a free health check up camp in the campus of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind

New Delhi. Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) yesterday organized a day-long health camp in the neighbouring area of Abul Fazal Enclave where free health checks up and medicines were provided to poor and needy people.

 The camp was organized by JMI’s Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari Health Centre and the Faculty of Dentistry in the campus of headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.

 Inaugurating the camp, JMI Vice Chancellor, Prof Talat Ahmad, said that the university always believed in service to humanity and has been organizing health camps regularly in slums and localities with large poor population. This camp, he said, was also part of that mission.

 He thanked Jamaat-e-Islami Hind for providing the space for organizing the health camp. Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri, Head of the Jamaat, praised JMI for providing free health care for poor and needy people who could not access such facilities.

 The camp was organized under the direct supervision of Dr. Irshad H Naqvi, Chief Medical Officer of Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari Health Centre and Prof. Saranjit Singh Bhasin, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, JMI.

 Dr. Naqvi said JMI has been organizing such camps for the poor and weaker sections of the society.  Dr. Bhasin said that people were given treatment for various ailments as also for dental problems.
