GAIL to expand gas pipeline network capacity by 50% in 3 years

New Delhi, September 11, 2018. GAIL India Tuesday said it will expand its pipeline network capacity by about 50 per cent by constructing 5,500-kilometers of new lines in the next three years.

The state-owned company is also looking at setting up 400 CNG stations and giving out a record 10 lakh piped natural gas (PNG) connections to household kitchens.

GAIL operates 11,000-km of pipeline network and markets two-thirds of all natural gas sold in the country.

In Gail (India)'s 34th annual general meeting, B.C. Tripathi, CMD said, "Gail's growth on an average during the past five years has provided a spectular return on Capital employed at about 13.6% and contributed to a dividend pay-out ratio of around 40%."

GAIL (India) Limited endeavours to add 5500 kilometres of gas pipelines to the existing network and leapfrog to capacity augmentation by about 50% on the current base in the next 3 years in phases.
