Demonstration at 12 noon outside Congress office & 3 pm outside BJP office on Feb. 10 & 11 to demand passage of Whistleblowers Protection Bill and Grievance Redress Bill
The first week of Parliament saw frequent disruptions because of which no serious business was transacted. The Whistleblowers Protection Bill and the Grievance Redress Bill were listed for discussion and passage but were not taken up in either house of Parliament.
Leaders of key political parties- Rahul Gandhi, Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, D. Raja- have assured people that these bills are top priority, but no progress has been made towards passing these bills.
The next few days are critical for the passage of these bills, as they will lapse when the current session of Parliament ends. We will, therefore, be holding demonstrations outside the Congress office and the BJP office in the coming week.
On Monday (10/2/2014) and Tuesday (11/2/2014), we will hold demonstrations outside the Congress office (24, Akbar Road) at 12 noon. In the afternoon, at 3 pm, we will proceed to the BJP office (11 Ashoka Road). In the evening, we will culminate with a candle light vigil for whistleblowers who have lost their lives, outside both the party offices.
Please join us for the demonstrations.
The plan for public action for Wednesday onwards will be emailed tomorrow.
Please join us in large numbers and share this widely.
