Akshay Kumar was present at the launch of PVR icon with Mr. Kamal Gianchandani CEO, PVR Pictures on Thursday. During media interaction, the actor said Marathi films are providing better content than Hindi cinema.
Akshay was asked about the issue of Marathi films like ‘Deva’ not being able to get screens to release films he said, “I think in every theater 2 3 screens are being allotted for its release. And according to me, honestly, the content that Marathi films are providing is much better than Hindi cinema. Because I have watched them and make remakes of 2 such films. And I myself have made Marathi cinema.”
‘Padman’ will be clashing with Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’ on release when asked to comment on the same, Akshay said, “Both the films are absolutely different than each other. Neeraj Pandey is a dear friend of mine there is no problem. And yes, this word ‘clash’ has actually come from media. We have no problem releasing films, there are around 4000- 500 screens around India and my film is screened in 2800 screens, I think it's fair enough.”
Akshay’s next project ‘Kesari’s a collab with Karan Johar, when asked about the film’s progress the actor said, “The title has been finalized as ‘Kesari’. I will start work on the film in January. We will be continuously shooting for it after the release of Padman.”
